In selecting staff, in-depth personal interviews are conducted in addition to classroom observations, as well as personal and professional references that indicate a successful past performance. A criminal history check with the Virginia State Police and background check through Va. Dept of Social Services will be performed. All Lead Teachers should have experience and a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. All staff are trained in first-aid and CPR. An additional step in the RESCC employment practices includes a 90-day in-training employment period. This time period allows employees to learn all of the Center’s practices and policies and demonstrate their skills. This time also allows the Center’s Director the opportunity to better observe, understand, and assess your skills to ensure that we are making the right placement. During this period, the employee will be assigned a mentor to assist during the transition into the new duties. At the end of the 90-day period a formal performance evaluation will take place. Once this time period has been successfully completed, the employee will be placed in a scheduled teaching position. Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE). |
